Rajasthan is culturally rich and has extensive tradition in art and culture, which reflects Indian way life. The dance, music and art forms have been watchfully cultivated and patronised by the erstwhile courts. An equally rich and varied folk culture from villages is both fascinating & mesmerising.

Hotel Sariska Palace, Sariska

Hotel Sariska Palace, Sariska Luxury Hotels of Rajasthan
This former palace & royal hunting lodge on the edge of Sariska National Park was built by the Maharaja of Alwar, for the visit of Queen Victoria`s son, the Duke of Connaught. Its architecture is a blend of French, regal, with eastern detailing & is now a Heritage Hotel. The interior is not opulent but it does have some Louis XIV & art deco furniture, along with wicker chairs & Victoriana.

The rooms & suites are gigantic (with typical high ceilings) & clean, with phones but no TVs; Some are air-conditioned. The lovely flower bedecked grounds are encircled by a large wall to keep the animals out, though they often find their way in. At times you may be lucky to see wildlife while relaxing on the hotel terrace itself.

The Royal Hunting Lodge, Sariska Palace Hotel, beckons you to a tryst with nature. Sariska is set among valleys, hills and deep forests that change colour with the seasons. It is home to an exotic variety of wild animals and beautiful birds. Here, herds of spotted deer, play hide and seek with the shadows. And the big wild cats, the tiger, leopards and panthers roam free. Come, take a walk on the wild side and stay in royal comfort at: Hotel Sariska Palace. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh of Alwar at the turn of the century, the Sariska Palace was a royal hunting lodge.

Silhouetted against the nurturing arms of the Aravali range, this legacy of the Maharaja is now a Heritage Hotel with modern amenities in a gracious, old world ambiance.

Each room is tastefully furnished with original Regency Victorian furniture. Sprawling terraces afford a spectacular view of the hills and the rare sight of herds of leaping deer dotting the landscape as wild boar browse through the undergrowth and colourful water birds bring the sky alive in a sudden burst of flight. Peacocks strut regally across the Palace lawns, fanning their rich feathers in a majestic flutter of movement dancing in tune to a secret music and rhythm.

Rose Garden at the palace Hard tennis courts with a viewing pavilion and a swimming pool give that added zest to a quite holiday - while the Bar and Palace kitchen with its range of various cuisines is a gastronome's delight.

Go on a wild Safari in an open jeep to the Sariska Sanctuary undulating over 866 sq. kms. of dense forest, meandering streams, hog-back ridges and gently descending valleys.

The natural habitat of the sambar, blue bull, porcupine, civet, wild foul, partrige and forests full of splendid trees, bamboo and prickly cactus, Sariska is only three hours away by road from Delhi. A serene, pollution-free world waits to be discovered at Alwar and Sariska, offering a living glimpse of Rajasthan's ,culture and history and proud heritage.
